Club Fit partners with Jonas Fitness

About a month ago, Club Fit, a proud member of the Jonas Fitness Family, was spotlighted in the online edition of Club Solutions Magazine. You can read the original interview here.

Founded in 1973, Club Fit presently operates clubs in Briarcliff and Jefferson Valley, New York, serving more than 14,000 members and their guests. To ensure those members and guests have a great member experience, Club Fit partners with us to help manage the club’s day-to-day operations including front desk check-in, POS, EFT processing and much more.

In this interview, Rachel Zabonick, editor at Club Solutions, sat down with James Stropoli, Club Fit’s Executive Director of Member Relations, to discuss the overall experience and relationship the club has with Jonas Fitness.

CS: How were you introduced to Jonas Fitness, and why did you decide to use their software?   

JS: As RCM Checkfree clients since the 1980s, we transitioned to Fiserv in 2011 after conducting a two-year due diligence and software comparisons. In 2013, Jonas Fitness acquired the rights and we have maintained our partnership ever since.

CS: What are the benefits to your business as a result of this partnership? 

JS: Secure EFT processing, reliable and friendly support systems, a real “listen-first” attitude for product development and feature requests, and the ability to provide valuable “end user/operator” experience and feedback from the ground level, as new modules are being formulated.

CS: As an operator, what are some of your favorite features of their software? 

JS: Interconnectivity of check-in, booking and POS systems. The ability for members to reserve courts and classes online and trainers to manage their availability and bookings via employee self-service right from their smartphones. Also for staff to be able to reset their own passwords!

CS: Have you been pleasantly surprised by working with Jonas Fitness in any way?  

JS: All companies go through growing pains and transitions (even on the leadership level) and despite their changes, Jonas Fitness has always found a way to stay fully engaged in our clubs, assigning great liaisons to our account, conducting site visits to see first-hand our operations and helping us deliver the ultimate member experience possible.

CS: What else can you tell other club owners about the benefits of working with Jonas Fitness? 

JS: As a 25-year veteran with Club Fit and responsible for many of our conversions, I can honestly state that Jonas Fitness is not just a software company, but rather a true partner that works with clients in many ways. Whether it is product development, quickly resolving inevitable software bugs or simply brainstorming best practices to make our staff experience better, Jonas Fitness delivers a complete package. Sure, there are enhancements we would love to see in the future, but we continue to team up with Jonas Fitness and fellow industry leaders to push towards a better product for all. We are confident that the road map they have shared will become a reality in the months to come; helping us to continue our genuine hospitality and care for our members’ wellbeing, showing attention to detail every step of the way and affording us time to truly embrace our neighborhood.
